Cute Anime Cartoons - Top 10 Anime Cartoons You Should See
10. Lucky Star.
Lucky star has no plot, as plain as that. It's purely a comedy series. The series is only driven by the most popular character of the series, Konata, even if you don't like the comedy in it, if you're an otaku (anime nerd.) you'll like her.
K-on is an anime about high school girls in a club together, yay! I am sure there won't be any extreme boredom. So in case you haven't guessed it's not that interesting, but they're all in a band together, thanks to the Light and Music Club. The series starts off with only four members of the band, and later on at the end of the first season we get a new character, sadly she is not interesting either. Now don't get me wrong, the music their band makes is good, but the characters are, well, dull. The show follows them in their normal life practicing, making new songs, and wait for this one - buying food! But never the less it's still cute, I guess.

Cartoons and Anime - Fun, Amusing, and Entertaining But a Business
But I do want to make one thing clear. I do believe that the quality of Japanese anime has slowly improved in the recent years. Though with that said, I am a bit worried about the new Youth Ordinance Bill that was passed in Tokyo, Japan. I know it's only a small level of censorship but this could potentially be the stepping stone towards a huge creation of censorship. Because as you know once a government issues a small change in the social structure, they tend to make more and bigger changes in the future.

Anime for the Adult in All of Us
Nope, that was not a typo. I meant to use that title. But, before I delve any further into that matter, I believe it would be best to let it explain itself. Now then, let's say you're watching an episode of some random semi-serious anime. Let's take... something shoujo, maybe Fushigi Yuugi. Suppose someone whom we'll refer to as "Random Ignorant Person" or Rip for short, suddenly barges in and starts watching with you. Then, just as the show is reaching it's climax in the pivotal "Nuriko's last stand" scene, Rip goes, "What the? C'mon let's stop watching cartoons and pop in this porn dvd." Totally spoils the cathartic effect doesn't it?
Unfortunately for us anime fans, people like Rip constitute the majority, and we, the otaku, meek though we are many, are still the minority. Yet, what Rip failed to see beyond the multi-colored hair, the exceedingly large eyeballs, the grand display of superpowers, and the guys who look like girls, was the intensity of the emotions at that particular scene, and in that anime in general, the clash of equally valid principles, the internal and external politics, the self-sacrifice, and yes, the arguably overrated and cliché love story, the entirety of which makes up Fushigi Yuugi.

Animated Cartoons
An animated cartoon is a short, hand-drawn (or created with computers to look something like something hand-drawn) film for the films, television or computer screen, featuring some kind of story or plot (even if it is a very short one).
Animation itself can be described as the rapid showing of a sequence of images of 2-D or 3-D artwork or model positions in order to create the illusion of movement. The effect is an optical illusion of motion due to the phenomenon of persistence of vision, and can be created and demonstrated in several ways.
It is difficult to believe but the very earliest instances of attempts to capture the impression of motion by drawing can be discovered in Paleolithic cave paintings. Here animals are depicted with multiple legs in superimposed positions, clearly attempting to convey the perception of motion.
Further examples can be seen on an earthenware bowl more than 5,000 years old from Persia and an Egyptian mural of wrestlers in action, which is approximately 4,000 years old.
However these examples cannot really be described as animation as there was no means of making the objects actually move.
The first mechanical devices designed to provide the illusion of movement were invented for children's amusement or as entertainment at private parties. These included the zoetrope, magic lantern, praxinoscope, thaumatrope, phenakistoscope, and flip book.
Charles-Emile Reynaud created the first animated film in 1892 while he exhibited an animated film consisting of loops of around 500 frames. This film is also outstanding as the first known instance of film perforations being used. His films were not photographed, but drawn directly onto the transparent strip.
However the first film which can truly be called an animated cartoon was 'Humorous Phases of Funny Faces' created by J. Stuart Blackton in 1906. It features a cartoonist drawing faces on a chalkboard, and the faces seemingly coming to life.
One of the very first successful animated cartoons was "Gertie the Dinosaur" (1914) by Winsor McCay. It is considered the first instance of true character animation.
All the main movie studios used animated cartoons of 5 to 10 minute lengths as "fillers" before the main film was shown during the time of the 1930s to the 1960s.Theatrical cartoons were in huge numbers and MGM, Disney, Paramount and Warner Brothers were the largest studios producing these 5 to 10-minute "shorts". However the ever blossomingh popularity of TV and the subsequent decline in cinema going has meant that today most animated cartoons are produced for television.
The most famous animated cartoon character of all is no doubt Mickey Mouse who was introduced to the world by Walt Disney in May 1928 in Plane Crazy but also starred some six months later in the first animated cartoon with sound - 'Steamboat Willie'. Incidentally, Mickey was originally christened Mortimer Mouse until Walt Disney's wife persuaded him to make the transformation.
Mickey Mouse, predated by another cartoon animal called Felix The Cat, made his first appearance in 1919. However another all time favourite cartoon series Tom and Jerry had to wait until 1931 to put in an appearance. All these characters and many more have long since made the transition from movies to television where, no doubt, they will be seen for numerous years to come.
